Here is the newly updated numbers from the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO). Of the 600 marine fish stocks monitored by FAO, only 23% are underexploited and moderately exploited. The majority is at risk. Specifically, 52% are fully exploited and 24% are either overexploited or are depleted. Besides, 1% are recovering from depletion.
